I recently headed up Little Cottonwood Canyon, about 10 minutes away from my house, and tooks some photos of flowers during the Wildflower Festival. This picture turned out quite well. Click here for more photos from that excursion.
As many of you know, I’m headed off to college soon, and that means I’m in need of an upgrade for my PC. I’ve decided on an AMD 64 Processor, as AMD’s happen to last longer than Intel’s boards and chips. I’ve already gotten my case, an Antec Server Case, and a 200 GB hard drive. I’m already set with a great NVidia graphics card. I say it’s great because it’s new and also has great functionality under Linux. I’m also looking for a 4.1 sound card, likely by Creative Labs.
Also as many of you know, I’m a Linux user. Building a new PC is a bit of an odd process because I can’t just buy any part I want. I have to figure out how it will work with any given distro. NVidia is usually wonderful for Linux, and most video cards work fine in Windows XP. Yes, I dual boot. Granted, I might have some problems with XP and a 64 bit processor, but I figure they’ll be fairly small. There’s not really anything else I can think of that I’d really need all that much. If you can think of anything else I might want, as a college student, let me know in a comment. I’d greatly appreciate it.
