Genesis: A New Beginning

Say goodbye, say goodbye
To the you I knew before
Say hello, say hello to a new beginning
Say goodbye, say goodbye
To the you I knew before
This is your genesis (Joy Williams - Say Goodbye)

I was tempted to post this at first with a post password, limiting it only to my friends, but I’m going to be open and let people understand how I work. Tonight, I became single again. Oddly enough, I’m not fretting about it or scared of what to do. On the other hand, it feels wierd to be with someone for that long and suddenly be mutually apart. I’ve come to the conclusion that relationships are a wonderful thing as long as they last. Once they’re gone, you can’t worry about them, you just have to live life like any other day, which is exactly what I plan to do. Despite the pain and/or awkwardness that this will eventually cause, I’m determined to keep a positive outlook. I was given a quite interesting quote, and I’ve decided to live by it.

“If you love someone set them free, if they return, it was meant to be.”

Thanks first to God for a great relationship that He blessed me with. A popular Christian song goes,

“You give and you take away, my heart will choose to say, blessed be the name of the Lord” (Tree63 - Blessed Be Your Name)

I want to thank Ashley for a wonderul 18 months. You were more than I ever could have asked for. I will cherish my memories with you. I hope your future is bright and successful. I hope that we can continue to be friends.

This has been a great learning time in my life. Thanks to everyone who gave me wisdom and insight, for you are who I look up to. I pray every day that God will give me wisdom like you have. I couldn’t ask for better friends. Thank You.

  1. Hey, I gave you that quote!! Relationship’s are a beautiful thing. “You like someone for their qualities, you love them for their defects.” Not all relationships are going to be perfect. They will all eventually have their flaws. But it is just a test to see how powerful and strong the love between the two is. Yet, sometimes we need to let go of the things that mean the most to us.

  4. Hey. Like Celia, I was kinda freaked out when you left last night without saying goodbye to anyone. Looks like ur taking it ok, but hey, if u ever need to talk to someone, you know that I’m there. Even though I can’t relate at all, I’m a decent listener (or so I’m told). I also just wanted to say that I’m glad that you and me and Celia were able to hang out, just the three of us, last Saturday night. In the midst of all the stupid things we talked about, I think we had a couple good talks too. Looking forward to the Thursday we actually get to hang out, which should be next week. Hope to see you at the Rock next week, but if you dont wanna go, I understand. Ttyl.

  5. Sawyer, I like you know the pain of an ending, the ending of a something you were told would be a never ending story. I understand your pain of the end, but your joy for tomorrow, that no matter what happens in life you must keep on running. Life is not a race, but a marathon, and giving up is not an option. You have an amazing outlook on this, which makes me know that not only does God know what He has planned for you, but that it is going to be tenfold to what you had. I will be praying for you none the less, and know I am always a phone call away if you need to talk. God Bless!
